The Sri Lankan government and ministry of health are following a deaf policy for the health professionals’ demands. They requested for their demands many times, but the minister of health or the secretary of the health are unwilling to give an opportunity even for a discussion. Thus, the Federation of Health Professionals conducted a series of protesting campaigns. But, still no response. The government also has ignored the promised demands at the budget.

Thus, the Federation of Health Professionals (16 health trade unions) conducted a protesting vehicle rally in Colombo on 30th November and at the end of the rally they conducted a meeting at the Vihara Maha Devi park, Colombo.
Further, the Federation of Health Professionals has decided to start a protest by withholding of submitting data to the ministry of health. Mr. Saman Rathnapriya, co-convener, the Federation of Health Professionals and the president of Government Nursing Officers’ Association said they will continue these series of protests until their demands are met.
